Wild fires, earthquakes, or mud slides in Diamond A may result in temporary closure of non-emergency automobile traffic on Grove Street - in both directions - to give priority to emergency vehicles. Keep off the roadways, as much as possible, during this type of emergency.
In the event of emergency, the best opportunity for rescue is at the Diamond A Recreation Center at 18843 Spring Drive. The Rec Center has a nonflammable area, near the local firehouse. It also has first aid supplies and an automated external defibrillator (AED). Going to the Rec center will reduce travel conflicts with emergency traffic.
The Diamond A Emergency Preparedness Plan was created by the DANA Emergency Planning and Preparedness (EPP) Committee, in coordination with the Grove Street Fire Safe Council, and the George Ranch EPP Committee, in 2020. A PDF of the 2020 plan is available for download below.

Diamond A has a fire station, which is located on Diamond A Recreation Association (DARA) land. It is leased to Sonoma Valley Fire District (SVFD). Our fire station is manned by volunteer fire fighting neighbors. Its existence has a positive effect on the fire insurance rates paid by the owners of Diamond A dwellings.
The lease agreement with SVFD started in August, 1989 (when it was known as Sonoma Valley FireMed) and runs through August, 2023 - 34 years. There is a provision in the lease for it to be extended for an additional 15 years, at the option of the SVFD. The SVFD paid lease consideration of $15,000, when the lease was signed. There is a process for determining the lease rent for the extension period, which is spelled out in the agreement.
